​This was the 2023 programme and gives you a flavour of what goes on at the South Downs Green Fair.
The South Downs Green Fair is becoming something of a date on the local music circuit.  
​We are always lucky to have the very best bands playing at the fair.

John bradley

John Bradley A.K.A Pompeyjazz is a Southsea based Singer / Songwriter, multi instrumentalist and producer who has released 10 solo albums together with other albums with collaboration projects Star XD and The Auditors. His music covers a wide variety and genres and influences based on a lifetime of playing music.

​These days, live performances are mainly solo acoustic interpretations of his catalog of songs.

A duo featuring 'Merv' (guitar and vocals) and Trev (harmonica), bring their own unique style and energy to an eclectic selection of songs. From classic rock, to more unusual numbers, we love playing these songs, and hope you will enjoy them too.

​Merv's legendary guitar skills have been honed from years of playing in countless local bands, and are complimented by Trev's versatility on the harmonica.

BEMIS

A regular favourite at the Green Fair, Bemis are a well established acoustic rock band with many years of experience, 6 albums and a good reputation on the festival circuit. Breathing new life into the spirit of Woodstock, Benis draw influences from Crosby Stills and Nash, Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Barenaked Ladies, The Beatles, Billy Bragg, and many more.

The welcome return of Mary Jane. A high-energy folk-rock band, based in Southampton. Featuring a heady array of instruments and talents, Mary Jane perform upbeat, sunny, bouncy tunes with rock rhythms. Wear comfortable footwear, as they will certainly get your feet moving!

Singer/songwriter King Rollo is a twenty-first century Troubadour having toured UK and European clubs, festivals and pub venues, featuring Blues & Roots themes, dispensing harmony to a jangled world. 

Fraser Harper’s musical tastes spring from 1970’s rock bands interwoven with Tyneside folk vibes from which his deep love of traditional blues and roots music has flourished both as a performer and a songwriter.

Rollo and Fraser together produce a compelling collection of original vibes and their own take on favourite songs.​
